40 Days to a Better You! Day 17

January 17

It's Thursday. The weekend is nearly here and the Lord wants to do amazing things in and through you today!

1) Please remember to choose something to stop doing.

Whether it is....
- a bad habit
- a sin you have struggled with, or
- some kind of food or drink that you know is not good for you.

Whatever it is break free over this next 40 days

2) Keep reading Grace Walk and/or Holiness, Truth and the Presence of God

3) Get some kind of exercise - Go for a walk, park farther away from the store or the office. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Find some way to help you physical body work    harder and better for you.

4) Read the following Scriptures and think and pray about it through out the day. See what revelation the Lord will give you about it for you day, week, year, or life.

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Acts 16:31

So they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

What do you think God's desire is for your not yet saved family and friends? Is there hope for everyone?

5) Please pray about the following items

In the Lord's prayer we are told to ask first for our daily bread

- Pray today and every day during our fast, a prayer of thanksgiving to God for what He has done for you!

Pray for your salvation blessing. God's desire is for every man woman and child to enter into relationship with Him. Pray today for those in your life that need the Lord. Even if they have been impossible to this point, expect God to do amazing things for them during our time of fasting!

- Pray for your the Dean and Lori Carlson and Dan Platt, and all of those who volunteer to help with the grounds and the building. They work tirelessly to keep the building and grounds in tip top shape. Often at the church when no one else is around or can see all the work they do. Everyone of is is blessed by their work and rarely realize it.

         - Pray for the Spirit of Kindness in our culture. The fruit of the Spirit will be evident wherever the Holy Spirit is present. Have you ever had someone just drop a door closed in your face or blatantly cut you off on the highway. There are so many ways every day that we can show kindness to people. From big things to little things pray that the Lord releases a spirit of kindness in our hearts and those around us.

          - Pray for one family in our church. perhaps someone who either their first or last name begins with "B". Pray that the Lord would bless and encourage them in some way today!

40 Days to a Better you! Day 16

January 16

It's Wednesday, the middle of the week. Half of our week has passed and half of our week is yet to come. Thank the Lord for what He has done in the past few days and expect greta things for the rest of the week!

1) Please remember to choose something to stop doing.

Whether it is....
- a bad habit
- a sin you have struggled with, or
- some kind of food or drink that you know is not good for you.

Whatever it is break free over this next 40 days

2) How is your reading coming? Keep reading Grace Walk and/or Holiness, Truth and the Presence of God!

Matthew 11:4 - 6

And Jesus answered them, Go and tell John what you hear and see: 5 the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them. 6 And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.

See comments below under items of prayer!

5) Please pray about the following items

In the Lord's prayer we are told to ask first for our daily bread

- Pray today and every day during our fast, a prayer of thanksgiving to God for what He has done for you!

- I want us to pray in a slightly different format today based on the scripture I have listed above. I have actually been wrestling with a prayer concern for nearly a month now. It has caused me a lot of sleeplessness and much concern during the day. It has been constantly on my heart. As I was praying this morning it was as if my blind eyes had been opened to the answer and my deaf ears had all of a sudden heard the answer. The answer was in front of me all of the time, but my concerned had blinded and deafened me to the answer. I am not sure at what point the concern overwhelmed the heart of prayer, but it did. As I was thanking the Lord for the answer, He reminded me that many in the church have the same struggle. The answer is right in front of them but the problem had become bigger than their prayer!  Pray today that any area where you may "deaf or blind" to the Lord's answer that you may see and hear. He always answers! Then also pray that people you know who are struggling for answers may now see and hear their answers! God is very good!

          - Pray for one family in our church. perhaps someone who either their first or last name begins with "A". Pray that the Lord would bless and encourage them in some way today!

1 Corinthians 2:9

“No eye has seenno ear has heard,
      and no mind has imagined
      what God has prepared
      for those who love him.”

Think about how much God has planned for you! Think about all the amazing things He has prepared for you! Let the circumstances fad away and believe for the amazing!

5) Please pray about the following items

In the Lord's prayer we are told to ask first for our daily bread

- Pray today and every day during our fast, a prayer of thanksgiving to God for what He has done for you!

Pray for your overcoming blessing. There is much that we will go through as Christians and the Lord promises to cause us to overcome in them all. Believe the Lord for blessings that in every situation you would be, as the Bible promises, more than a conquerer.

- Pray for your the Elders and their families. Gino and Denise Bosetti, Mark and Donna Britt, Walt and Bev Cieply, Dana and Annette Clay, Dave and Elaine Dennis, Tom and Jean Hollis, Pete and Cookie Newstrom, Reed and Julie Anders. These men and women and their children are on the front lines praying and standing in the gap for you. Please pray for them today.

         - Pray for the Spirit of Meekness in our culture. The fruit of the Spirit will be evident wherever the Holy Spirit is present. Don't confuse meekness with weakness. Meekness is about understanding the power, authority, gifts, talents, and abilities that you have and surrendering them to the Lord for His purposes.

          - Pray for one family in our church. it could be any family at all. Pray that the Lord would bless and encourage them in some way today!

Jeremiah 31:3

The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.

What does it mean to be completely loved by God? How does is impact your life if we believe we are completely loved by God?

5) Please pray about the following items

In the Lord's prayer we are told to ask first for our daily bread

- Pray today and every day during our fast, a prayer of thanksgiving to God for what He has done for you!

- Pray for your health blessings that the Lord will continue to keep you and your family in great health! Many are battling various flu bugs, sinus infections, bronchitis and so much more. Diseases do not determine God's will but we can believe God for an overcoming health blessing to fall on each of us and the church as a whole! Lay hands on and pray for thosein your household who are not well and let's believe together for healing!

- Pray for your the teaching team. Terri, Kim, Amy, Lorrie, Sharen, Bill, Lorie, Elaine, Matt, and all those who teach our children and adult classes. Pray that as they share their gifts, they are refreshed, encouraged, and blessed as they work tirelessly to ministry to our children and each of us. Pray that each of our hearts are receptive to receiving what the Lord has for each of us through them.

         - Pray for the Spirit of Gentleness in our culture. The fruit of the Spirit will be evident wherever the Holy Spirit is present. Gentleness or the act of taking the harshness or severity out of a situation. Use the spirit of gentleness to bring calm in the middle of someone's storm or anger.

40 Days to a better you!

January 13

It is Sunday again what a joy to be together with all of the family! When you are gathering for a football game whether it is with friends in your home or at the stadium, you prepare, you are excited about your team, you have prepared food and mentally for the game. You are excited by game time. I hope you are excited for waht the Lord is going to do Sunday!

Please pray for the Vangura family. Matt is one of our Elders and his Father passed away suddenly this morning.

4) Read the following Scripture and think and pray about it through out the day. See what revelation the Lord will give you about it for you day, week, year, or life.

Luke 12:29 - 31

And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. 30 For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. 31 But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.

How much do you worry about the "things" of life? What would it look life in your life to put God first? How much more do you think God has for you as you trust Him?

5) Please pray about the following items

In the Lord's prayer we are told to ask first for our daily bread

- Pray today and every day during our fast, a prayer of thanksgiving to God for what He has done for you!

- Pray for your wholeness blessings. There is a place of wholeness both body, mind, and spirit that the Lord would like us to live. I place where we are in complete harmony with Him. A Place where all fear, worry, anxiety, brokenness, sickness and disease are brought under control and His blessing of wholeness rest in our lives.

- Pray for your the worship team. Jon Kozik, Joyce Vivio, Brett Lincoln and the Sunday and Friday night worship teams sacrifice much time and energy. They are always seeking the Lord for what He wants for each service. The pressure and warfare at times can be intense. Pray for their hearts to always be aligned with His heart for each service. Pray that they see blessings where they need it because of their great sacrifice.
         - Pray for the Spirit of Patience in our culture. Families break up because of a lack of Patience. Children's lives are changed for ever because of a leader in their life having a lack of patience. Many accidents happen because of a lack of patience.

          - Pray for one family in our church. it could be any family at all. Pray that the Lord would bless and encourage them in some way today!

Jeremiah17:14

Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise.

Jeremiah 30: 17a

For I will restore health to you And heal you of your wounds, says the Lord,

5) Please pray about the following items

In the Lord's prayer we are told to ask first for our daily bread

- Pray today and every day during our fast, a prayer of thanksgiving to God for what He has done for you!

- Pray for your wholeness blessings. There is a place of wholeness both body, mind, and spirit that the Lord would like us to live. I place where we are in complete harmony with Him. - Pray for your family, specifically a family member who is causing you some difficulty right now. It is very hard to stay angry with someone for whom you are praying. Healing can come in all sorts of ways and praying for those who are giving us difficulty can bring healing to them and us.

         - Pray for the Spirit of Peace to take a primary role in our culture. We are called to have our feet covered with peace so that everywhere we go we bring peace. Pray that we will know, and live this peace and be able to bring it everywhere we go!

          - Pray for one family in our church. it could be any family at all. Pray that the Lord would bless and encourage them in some way today!

40 Days to Better You! Day 11

January 11

Tonight is church night and we always have a great time. I hope you are looking forward to it!

4) Read the following Scripture and think and pray about it through out the day. See what revelation the Lord will give you about it for you day, week, year, or life.

Philippians 4:19,20

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

When we give of our time, talent, energy, gifts, and finances God will bless. How do you think the Lord wants to bless you today?

5) Please pray about the following items

In the Lord's prayer we are told to ask first for our daily bread

- Pray today and every day during our fast, a prayer of thanksgiving to God for what He has done for you!

- Pray for your fruitfulness blessings, that the Lord will continue to break us free of everything that  would hinder or stop our fruitfulness! The Father desires for us to bear fruit. Because we are in the Vine it is unnatural for us to not bear fruit. Expect fruitfulness in all that you do!

- Pray for your neighbors on the left side. These are the people we are closest to in proximity but many really don't spend any time talking with them. God has placed you in your neighborhood. Pray for your neighbors look for opportunities to bless them, not so much with your words as your actions

         - Pray for the Spirit of Joy to take a primary role in our culture. The scripture says in Nehemiah that the Joy of the Lord is our strength. There is a weakness in our culture, people do not know their call or purpose and thus do not know real joy. Depression over takes them because they don't know joy!

          - Pray for one family in our church. it could be any family at all. Pray that the Lord would bless and encourage them in some way today!

40 Days to a Better You! Day 10

January 10

Was your self-control tested yesterday? If so, how did you handle it? We are 1/4 of the way into the fast. You are growing in the Lord! Keep you eyes on Him and allow Him to live His life through you!

4) Read the following Scripture and think and pray about it through out the day. See what revelation the Lord will give you about it for you day, week, year, or life.

Matthew 11:28 - 30

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Have heavy do you feel every morning? How much of a burden are you carrying? What is your responsibility and what is God's?

5) Please pray about the following items

In the Lord's prayer we are told to ask first for our daily bread

- Pray today and everyday during our fast, a prayer of thanksgiving to God for what He has done for you!

Pray for your freedom blessings, that the Lord will continue to break us free of everything that binds us. We need to be set free of any lies, wounds, rejections, fears, addictions, sins, or any other thing that pulls us away from the Lord! Even some good things can prove to be a bondage. The pharisee's wanted to be God's servants so much that they placed their traditions in front of God! Samson trusted in the gifts of God more than God himself and it became a literal bondage to him. Allow the Lord to revel to you areas where you may be limiting God!

- Pray for your neighbors on the right side. These are the people we are closest to in proximity but many really don't spend any time talking with them. God has placed you in your neighborhood. Pray for your neighbors look for opportunities to bless them, not so much with your words as your actions

         - Pray for the Spirit of love to take a primary role in our culture. The scripture tells us that perfect love takes away all fear (1 John 4:18). Think about all the battles of fear we are facing. When you listen to the news or the radio you will hear a lot of bad news. There are many things to fear and worry about but if love can invade our culture, His love. We can watch people get set free.

40 Days to a Better You! Day 9

January 9

Where you able to do a random act of Kindness yesterday? I hope so, if not you will have other opportunities during this fast.

4) Read the following Scripture and think and pray about it through out the day. See what revelation the Lord will give you about it for you day, week, year, or life. I felt we needed two scriptures today one from the Old Testament and one from the New!

Jeremiah 33:3

"Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know."

Romans 8:31

"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"

God has a plan for each of us, it is on His heart and He will show it to us if we ask! No matter how difficult things may become, He is always for us! What does that mean for you today as you go through your day?

5) Please pray about the following items

In the Lord's prayer we are told to ask first for our daily bread

- Pray today and everyday during our fast, a prayer of thanksgiving to God for what He has done for you!

- Pray for your relationship blessings, that the Lord will continue to heal and strengthen every relationship in your life! Pray that He will order your relationships as well, eliminating those that are not a blessing to you and strengthening all those where you can be a blessing. He can and will heal and strengthen every relationship we place in His hands!

- Pray for your employer. Every authority in our lives has been placed there by God for our good! I know some times it doesn't seem like that but they have been. Ask the Lord for wisdom on how to pray for your boss(es), for what they need most! Salvation may be there greatest need, healing my be there greatest need, freedom from fear and worry, whatever the need, the Lord will give you wisdom!

         - Pray for the spirit of self-control to take a primary role in our culture. I am not sure there is much self-control in our culture at all. Marriages fail, people are in debt, diseases reign rampant all because we don't have much self-control. This is all part of the fruit of the Spirit for our good that we will shine as lights in the darkness!

40 Days to a Better You! Day 8

January 8

Today is another great day to serve the Lord!

4) Read the following Scripture and think and pray about it through out the day. See what revelation the Lord will give you about it for you day, week, year, or life.

Daniel 11:32

"but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits."

What great exploits do you think God has planned for you? Don't just think about the future, think about today!

5) Please pray about the following items

In the Lord's prayer we are told to ask first for our daily bread

- Pray today and everyday during our fast, a prayer of thanksgiving to God for what He has done for you!

- Pray for those who serve in the House of Representatives. Both those in the State and Federal houses need our prayers. They are the ones closest to representing every individual. Their terms of office are only two years so they must spend the first half focusing on serving you and me and the second half preparing for election. This is a thankless job that really must be about serving the people. Pray that they are led by the Holy Spirit to do great things.

         - Pray for the spirit of Kindness to take a primary role in our culture. Kindness is really a true concern for others. When we are kind to others we reap as much benefit from our kindness as the people we are kind to. Try a random act of kindness today. Randomly help someone who you have no connection to today, buy someones lunch in line behind you, shovel someone's drive or walk, back someone something, I am sure there are many other ideas you could come up with!

40 Days to a better you! Day 7

January 7

I know Monday's can be hard but look at it as another opportunity to honor the Lord with all that you have!

4) Read the following Scripture and think and pray about it through out the day. See what revelation the Lord will give you about it for you day, week, year, or life.

2 Chronicles 16:9

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.

You have heard me use this scripture many times, what do you think it means to have God show himself strong to you? How would that look in all that you are doing today?

5) Please pray about the following items

In the Lord's prayer we are told to ask first for our daily bread

- Pray today and everyday during our fast, a prayer of thanksgiving to God for what He has done for you!

- Pray for your prosperity blessing. Prosperity is many faceted it is health, finances, relationships and so many other things. John proclaims a blessing over the church asking that they should prosper and be in health even as their souls prosper (3 John 1:2)! Prosperity is something the Lord wants for His children so you come into a agreement with God's heart for you when you pray for you own prosperity.

- Pray for those who serve in the military. Part of the mandate of government according to the scripture is to defend the weak. Those in the military were never condemned by Jesus only told to do their jobs fairly! The military are placing their lives on the line every day for our personal freedoms. We need them to function as officers of peace for us.

         - Pray for the spirit of Meekness to take a primary role in our culture. Meekness is the ability to overlook and forgive offenses and the call to follow the Lord's word with humility. So many people are so easily offended we need this portion of the fruit of the Spirit to strengthen and encourage each one of us on a daily basis. Being free of offenses and humbly walking before God makes us a very powerful people.

40 Days to a better you! Day 6

January 6

Sunday is here! Let it be a day of rest, refreshing and joy! How is the exercise coming?

1) Please remember to choose something to stop doing.

Whether it is....
- a bad habit
- a sin you have struggled with, or
- some kind of food or drink that you know is not good for you.

Whatever it is break free over this next 40 days

2) Keep reading Grace Walk and/or Holiness, Truth and the Presence of God

3) Get some kind of exercise - Go for a walk, park farther away from the store or the office. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Find some way to help you physical body work    harder and better for you.

4) Read the following Scripture and think and pray about it through out the day. See what revelation the Lord will give you about it for you day, week, year, or life.

Joshua 1:8,9

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Did you ever think knowing God's word could give you great success? What do these two verses mean to you!

5) Please pray about the following items

In the Lord's prayer we are told to ask first for our daily bread

- Pray today and everyday during our fast, a prayer of thanksgiving to God for what He has done for you!

- Pray for your overcoming blessing. There is much that we will go through as Christians and the Lord promises to cause us to overcome in them all. Believe the Lord for blessings that in every situation you would be, as the Bible promises, more than a conquerer.

- Pray for the medical staff in our region. The doctors, nurses, pharmacist and so many others that work in the medical field. Medicine is one of the fastest growing fields in our region. Many are in this field from our church. Those in this field carry the hope of their patients in their hands. Our family members who work in this field are lights in this area!

         - Pray for the spirit of Gentleness to take a primary role in our culture. Gentleness has two meanings for our culture; 1) Controlling of anger 2) being a gentleman or gentlewoman. As you look around you can see plenty of people losing their anger be the peacemaker. Also lead in the proper treatment of people with gentleness.

40 Days to a better you Day 5

January 5

Day 5 should be a sort of "over the hump" day. You have made it through one of the most difficult challenges, the first few days of the change, and are on the move! Keep going only 35 days to a better you!

Isaiah 40:29 - 31

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Weakness is never a problem with the Lord. Think about the areas of struggle in your life and allow Christ to pour through you to bring you above your circumstances.

5) Please pray about the following items

In the Lord's prayer we are told to ask first for our daily bread

- Pray today and everyday during our fast a prayer of thanksgiving to God for what He has done for you!

- Pray for our teachers both those in our schools and in our church. They spend time preparing and serving the people of our community with little or no encouragement. Ask that the Lord would reveal his great love and plan for each one of them. In return they will be able to pour out that love into our kids.

         - Pray for the Patience to overwhelm our area. So many accidents on the highway and arguments are caused by a lack of patience. Basic rudeness is running rampant in our culture. pray that this portion of the fruit of the Spirit would return in our lives and the lives of those around us. Patience is really away of honoring and preferring others over ourselves
