40 days to a Better You! Day 23

January 23

It is another day where we can get together as family and Pastor Gary's foundation principles class begins tonight. I look forward to Wednesdays it is a time if I have some freedom that I get the chance to poke my head into some of the kids classes and say "Hi". We are family and family nights are a time when you really can fellowship with other church family members. Come and try it if you haven't.

1) Please remember to choose something to stop doing.

Whether it is....
- a bad habit
- a sin you have struggled with, or
- some kind of food or drink that you know is not good for you.

Whatever it is break free over this next 40 days

2) Keep reading Grace Walk and/or Holiness, Truth and the Presence of God

3) Get some kind of exercise - Go for a walk, park farther away from the store or the office. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Find some way to help you physical body work    harder and better for you.

4) Read the following Scriptures and think and pray about it through out the day. See what revelation the Lord will give you about it for you day, week, year, or life.

Genesis 2:13

And the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.

Hebrews 13:4

Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

1 Peter 3:1, 7

1 Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, 7 Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

Only a very few select people have been chosen by God to not marry so most of us will marry or are married. What does God think about marriage? What should your marriage or the marriages of those around you look like based on these scriptures?

5) Please pray about the following items

In the Lord's prayer we are told to ask first for our daily bread

- Pray today and every day during our fast, a prayer of thanksgiving to God for what He has done for you!

- Pray for your fruitfulness blessings, that the Lord will continue to break us free of everything that  would hinder or stop our fruitfulness! The Father desires for us to bear fruit. Because we are in the Vine it is unnatural for us to not bear fruit. Expect fruitfulness in all that you do! Pray particularly that we might bear fruit in our relationship one with another, especially in our marriages.

- Pray for Marriages. Your marriage, other marriages in our church, and the marriages you know. Our culture has a particular attack on marriages and a marriage between a man and a woman is foundational to the security of our culture.

         - Pray for the Spirit of Gentleness in our culture. Scripture says that a soft answer turns away wrath. If we can see people and situations the way the Lord sees them he will cause us to walk in gentleness toward everyone, expecting the best in every situation. Jesus is gentle, yet He is the all powerful God. Gentleness does not limit our power only enhances that we know how to live like Christ to others

          - Pray for one family in our church. perhaps someone who either their first or last name begins with "I" or "J". Pray that the Lord would bless and encourage them in some way today!
